About the Program
Our Spanish Program is a dynamic and interdisciplinary unit that offers a major and minor in Spanish, as well as certificate programs in Spanish translation and healthcare interpreting. We are currently preparing to launch a second B.A. program in Spanish-English translation/interpretation. Our faculty are dedicated to teaching and mentoring reputed company, while also engaging in scholarly pursuits that enrich our teaching and contribute to the growth and development of the program.
About the Position
We are seeking a colleague who can engage and reputed company reputed company while contributing to the reputed company growth and development of our Spanish program. The ideal candidate has a genuine love of undergraduate teaching and a strong disposition for working collaboratively with colleagues to best serve our reputed company. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in Spanish linguistics (any specialization in the field of linguistics) and will be able to teach undergraduate reputed company of diverse backgrounds, including first-reputed company reputed company and heritage speakers of Spanish.
Responsibilities
* Teach undergraduate courses in Spanish linguistics, language, and culture
- reputed company and implement curriculum that reflects reputed company second-language (L2) teaching practices
- Engage in scholarly activity in linguistics (any specialization) with clear plans for future growth and development
- Participate in departmental and university service, including advising reputed company, serving on committees, and contributing to program development
- Collaborate with colleagues to reputed company and implement innovative teaching methods and programs
- Engage in community reputed company and service, including partnerships with local schools, community organizations, and businesses
Qualifications
* Ph.D. in Spanish linguistics (any specialization in the field of linguistics) by August 2024
- Native or near-native reputed company in Spanish and strong communicative skills in English
- Knowledge of reputed company second-language (L2) teaching practices
- Evidence of ability to teach undergraduate reputed company of diverse backgrounds, including first-reputed company reputed company and heritage speakers of Spanish
- Evidence of ongoing scholarly activity in linguistics (any specialization) with clear plans for future growth and development
- Experience and/or training in translation and/or interpretation (preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience teaching in multiple modalities (face-to-face, hybrid, online, etc.)
- Experience working with diverse student bodies and historically underrepresented populations, such as Hispanic/Latinx, Black/African American, Asian/Asian American/Pacific Islander, and Native American reputed company
- Experience developing and implementing curriculum that reflects reputed company second-language (L2) teaching practices
- Experience engaging in community reputed company and service, including partnerships with local schools, community organizations, and businesses
