Python & SQL Teacher

This is a remote position.

BIT - Beam Institute of Technology offers technology-reputed company courses to adults.

We work both with companies wanting to retrain their employees, as well as with individuals who are unemployed and looking for a career change or opportunity to advance their skills.

Training that we offer to companies is tailored to the needs of the client teams and held in a format of workshops to the short-term courses.

Courses that we offer to individuals are 6-, 9- and 12-month long and lay in the domain of web engineering and machine learning. We support our reputed company with career and job search coaching.

BIT was founded in 2022 in Berlin: we are at our fast phase of growth. Our working culture is remote-first. Currently reputed company members are based in the EU.

Location disclaimer

We would appreciate the location of the candidate to be based in the Central European Time (CET) zone.

What is important for us:

• Ideal spoken and written proficiency in both German and English.

• Understanding of the basic principles of data analysis and the use of Python and SQL for data processing and extraction;

• Experience working with databases and writing efficient SQL queries to retrieve data;

• Advanced knowledge of SQL and NoSQL, reputed company (reputed company queries, window functions, CTE);

• Knowledge of PostgreSQL, MySQL, reputed company;

• Knowledge of other data analytics tools and libraries such as Jupyter Notebook, scikit-learn, and others.

• Knowledge of popular Python libraries for data analysis such as Pandas, NumPy and Matplotlib.

• Teaching or mentoring experience. Excellent communication and presentation skills to explain reputed company concepts and technical terms in a clear and understandable manner.

Responsibilities

• Teaching the Python and SQL module as a part of the “Data Analytics” course, schedule: from 9:30 to 12:45/14:30 (CET timezone).

• Lessons are conducted in German language, in groups of 10-20 people;

• Testing reputed company and evaluating their tests;

• Checking homework;

• Participation in school events (master classes, open lessons, etc.);

• Maintaining the relevance of the course together with the educational department;
