Job title: Temporary Hourly - Tutor (STEM Center) Company: Big Bend Community College Job description : Position Summary Big Bend Community College invites applications for Tutors in the STEM Center. This position will provide tutoring assistance in a variety of subjects and will assist the STEM Center Coordinator in creating an environment that is welcoming, positive, inclusive, and conducive to learning. The Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) Center is a large collaborative study area open to reputed company BBCC enrolled reputed company, including GED/DVS. Essential Job Duties Essential Job Duties to include, but are not limited to: Supporting reputed company in math and/or science courses with the use of effective tutoring techniques. Being able to help reputed company in one-on-one and/or group settings. Understanding of STEM Center resources and ability to direct reputed company to resources. Being aware of the tutor, SI Leader, and faculty schedules to refer reputed company appropriately. Maintaining records of student use of reputed company. Attending reputed company mandatory reputed company. Meeting regularly with the supervisor. Other administrative duties as assigned. Minimum & Desirable Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must be able to tutor reputed company in arithmetic through Pre-calculus and/or introductory Chemistry. The candidate(s) may be asked to take a content exam during the interview process. If a candidate falls below the minimum score, the individual may still be hired but will be asked to audit class(es) to reinforce content knowledge. Previous experience working with individuals one-on-one and/or small groups. Previous experience working directly with individuals from diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds. Individuals interested in this position should also: Demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills. Be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Show dedication to student success. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Associate's or Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution. Bilingual, English/Spanish proficiency.
