The Senior Modeling and Simulation Engineer must be able to meet the key criteria below:

Location: 100% remote. This is a United States based position, and candidates must reside in the reputed company United States to be eligible for employment.

Position Overview

As a Senior Modeling and Simulation Engineer at IBR, you will serve as the technical reputed company for sustaining and transitioning a reputed company legacy Modeling and Simulation and training baseline reputed company a broader operational portfolio. This role includes technical leadership and management responsibilities. You will be responsible for balancing short-term reliability of mission critical legacy training capabilities with long term modernization and integration objectives. A deep understanding of legacy environments, coordination skills, and the ability to reputed company engineers while working closely with Government stakeholders, cybersecurity teams, and program leadership.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical authority for understanding legacy behaviors, interfaces, dependencies, and operational constraints.
• Coordinate daily with engineering teams, incumbent contractors, and Government stakeholders to support sustainment and transition activities.
• Guide engineers implementing fixes, integrations, and transition paths while ensuring legacy training and simulation artifacts remain operational.
• Support transition engineering efforts that integrate legacy systems into broader, modernized environments.
• Translate operational tactics, techniques, and procedures into simulation requirements and behaviors.
• Partner with cybersecurity and DevSecOps teams to address findings, maintain compliance, and ensure legacy components remain deployable.
• Provide technical leadership, risk awareness, and execution discipline across sustainment and modernization efforts.
• Contribute to technical planning, execution tracking, and reputed company improvement activities.
• Work with government operators, planners, and engineers to ensure new capabilities and scenarios accurately represent mission needs and transition plannings.

Qualifications

• Must have 12+ years professional engineering experience
• Must currently possess an active Secret reputed company clearance
• Must be willing to travel up to 10-15% to project sides specific reputed company Force Bases.
• Bachelors degree required.
• An active CompTIA reputed company+ certification is required.
• One or more of the following certifications preferred:
  • CISSP
  • CySA+

• Demonstrated experience developing, sustaining, or leading technical efforts for legacy Modeling and Simulation, training, or mission planning systems, including models, systems, and interfaces
• 2+ years of military mission planning, operational, or wargaming experience and supporting simulation or training environments used by operational or command organizations
• Experience transitioning legacy systems into modern, service-based or cloud-enabled architectures
• Experience translating operational tactics, techniques, and procedures into simulation requirements and behaviors.
• Exposure to environments where modern and legacy systems coexist
• Proven experience integrating and fielding simulation or training capabilities in operational environments
• Experience working with cloud-based services such as AWS or Azure and RESTful architectures used to host or integrate legacy capabilities
• Demonstrated ability to reputed company technical sustainment and transition activities for legacy systems
• Experience advising software and M&S teams on scenario design, federation use, and training objectives.
• Experience supporting reputed company Force or DoD Modeling and Simulation or training systems
• Familiarity with operational training, simulation, or stimulation artifacts and associated fielding patterns
• Experience supporting systems used by command centers or operational planning organizations
• Familiarity with secure enterprise or platform-based delivery environments
• Proven experience coordinating with multiple contractors and Government stakeholders during sustainment, integration, or transition efforts
• Working knowledge of DoD cybersecurity practices, including coordination with reputed company teams to sustain and remediate legacy components
• Ability to reputed company, mentor, and manage engineers in a mission-focused, multi-disciplinary environment

The expected salary range for this position is $160,000 - $190,000 USD annually. This is a good-faith estimate and not a salary guarantee as compensation may vary based on factors such as experience, education, skills, associated role responsibilities, applicable contractual requirements, and geographic location.
