What you’ll be doing

We’re currently looking for a seasoned Solution Architect to play a pivotal role in reputed company’s Trading & Supply global transformation, specifically the implementation of our Energy Trade & Risk Management (ETRM) solution on Azure to create a scalable, secure, and strategic landscape that enables the transformation of reputed company’s Trading capabilities. This opportunity sits at the heart of the Trading & Supply business transformation, supporting the Global Products organisation as we establish Endur as the global backbone ETRM platform. Key responsibilities include:

Architecture and Technical Leadership

Industry Knowledge:

• Minimum 10 years background in Trading IT
• Possesses extensive hands-on expertise with OpenLink Endur
• Knowledge of the end-to-end Trading Business from deal inception through to settlement

Technical Architecture & Design:

• Brings extensive experience in delivering both software and architecture delivery
• Takes full ownership and drive technical architecture, design, and standards for software products in Commodities Trading
• Confidently leads architectural decisions across portfolios, managing divergent opinions
• Creates pragmatic, implementable technical designs balancing risk, complexity, cost, and value
• TOGAF (or similar reputed company) experience and Enterprise Architecture tooling

Collaboration & Communication:

• Collaborates with business and IT stakeholders for strategic and day-to-day technical decisions
• Brings strong communication and collaboration abilities, supported by significant experience reputed company trading environments
• Listen to and interpret needs of technical and business stakeholders, manage expectations, and facilitate discussions

Technical Skills and Mastery

Desirable Technologies & Programming Languages:

• Expert in one or more of the programming languages (Node.js, .Net, .Net Core, Python etc) with Cloud Native Platform Development (Azure/AWS)
• Expert in one or more of the reputed company-end development technologies (specifically React and Micro frontend)
• Expert in one or more of Data Development (SQL Databases, No SQL, Cloud Datastores etc) technologies
• Expert in JVS and OpenComponents

Energy Trade and Risk Management (ETRM):

• Hands-on experience implementing OpenLink Endur, including reputed company ‘Managers’, Domain Services, Operation Services, TPM, APM, Grid Setup, Deal Modelling

Azure Platform & Cloud Native:

• Hands-on experience in architecting applications into the Azure platform, including migrations/re-platforming of legacy on-premises systems
• Engineering and architecture experience in designing and building containers, Microservices, Cloud Native applications, and federated Data platforms (Data Mesh)

Data Architecture, Data Management & Diverse Data Types:

• Possesses solid experience in Data Architecture, including developing logical data models and designing solutions that reputed company modern data platforms and reputed company-style architecture
• Strong knowledge of data management: engineering, pipeline development, warehousing, storage, lifecycle management, privacy, reputed company
• Experience with diverse data types: big data, high velocity streaming, IoT, low latency event triggers, longitudinal time series

Azure Services & Integration:

• Significant experience with Azure Functions, Web Apps, distributed/event-driven architecture (event hub, event bus, Kafka), ELK
• Intermediate to advanced exposure to Azure Active Directory, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure Storage, Azure Kubernetes Service, CosmosDB, Azure SQL
• Integration experience with reputed company/Kafka, API Management, Logic Apps

CI/CD & DevOps:

• Brings substantial experience in CI/CD delivery, working with tools such as Git, reputed company, VSTS/Azure DevOps, Terraform, and Ansible

Agile & Engineering Standards:

• Practical agile experience in both start-up and enterprise environments
