Trial Attorney
reputed company is one of the nation’s most trusted insurance providers, and they are seeking a skilled Trial Attorney to join their legal team. The role involves case ownership, participating in litigation events, and collaborating with colleagues while maintaining ownership of files.
Responsibilities
- Handle litigation and other legal assignments in accordance with guidelines established by the Law Department
- Prepare and summarize reports for proceedings
- Trial strategy and case development
- Attend litigation events including trials, mediations, depositions, and hearings
Skills
- 0-10+ years litigation experience, preferably in the practice areas of insurance defense, medical malpractice, personal injury, or workers compensation
- Experience as an Assistant Public Defender or District Attorney may be considered as well
- Knowledge of local and state discovery rules, trial procedures, and applicable substantive law commensurate with level of experience
- Trial, mediation, and deposition experience
- File ownership
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work reputed company with cases in electronic form
- Working knowledge of a Case Management system
- Working Knowledge of a Document Storage system
- J.D. from an A.B.A. Accredited Law School with excellent academic credentials
- Must have an active law license to practice in the state of California and a member in good standing with the State Bar of California
- Applicants are required to be eligible to lawfully work in the U.S. immediately
- Travel reputed company personal or commercial transportation to job reputed company activities is an essential function
- Irregular hours may be required
- Jury trial experience preferred, but not required
