We are seeking an reputed company and enthusiastic Design/Estimating Engineer to join our fast-paced design and estimating team. In this role, you will be responsible for producing accurate and compliant fire alarm system designs and cost estimates, supporting both pre-sales activities and project delivery. This position requires a strong technical understanding, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and clients to deliver tailored, cost-effective solutions.

• Proven ability to manage relationships and communicate effectively with Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) contractors, ensuring projects are delivered to the required standards and timelines.
• Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, effectively prioritising workloads based on project deadlines and business needs.
• Act as a customer-facing technical expert, working alongside Business Development Managers to present and deliver tailored design proposals.
• Collaborate closely with Project Managers and installation teams to assess and negotiate installation costs for supply, installation, and commissioning projects.
• Ensure reputed company designs and proposals are accurately costed, reputed company with company margin expectations, and appropriately approved and signed off prior to release.
• Guarantee reputed company quotations and designs are fully compliant with reputed company legislation and industry standards, maintaining technical accuracy and reputed company.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Fire Alarm Design Engineer, ideally supported by an FIA Design Qualification or equivalent industry certification.
• Strong technical knowledge of a variety of fire detection systems and manufacturers, such as Hochiki, Gent, Advanced, and Ziton.
• Previous experience in a similar role, with a track record of liaising effectively with end users, contractors, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, with the ability to produce accurate, standards-compliant system designs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong focus on delivering outstanding customer service.
• Full, clean UK driving licence, enabling site visits and client meetings as required.
• Professional, relationship-driven approach, with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships both internally and externally.
