Key Responsibilities

• Utilize technical coding expertise to assign accurate ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes to outpatient visit types, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines and organizational policies.
• Review medical records thoroughly, leveraging knowledge of anatomy, physiology, clinical disease processes, pharmacology, and medical terminology to report appropriate diagnoses and procedures.
• Collaborate with the Orders Management Unit (OMU) and other coding divisions to resolve NCD/LCD edit claim failures, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
• Interpret health record documentation, applying knowledge of coding conventions, instructional notes, and regulatory guidelines to select accurate diagnoses and procedures with a minimum of 95% accuracy.
• Meet established minimum coding productivity and quality standards for each outpatient encounter type, ensuring high-quality coding and reimbursement outcomes.
• Review and analyze dashboards to derive conclusions and identify opportunities for improvement, driving process enhancements and quality initiatives.

Essential Qualifications
