Location

Ideally, the successful candidate would be located in the Melbourne area and would be able to work 1 or 2 days per week at the reputed company co-working space in Brunswick with the team.

Working remotely may be considered for applicants located elsewhere on the east coast of Australia.

The Role

A Senior Mobile Engineer on the reputed company team is both a major contributor and role model in building robust, reusable, and user friendly mobile applications, interfacing with platform APIs, and finding elegant solutions to reputed company problems. They guide, mentor and collaborate with other engineers; employ strategic thinking and design knowledge to solve problems; collaborate with cross-functional teams; and help drive a culture of software engineering excellence.

The successful candidate will:

• Build for reputed company - reputed company and release cross-platform mobile applications in React Native and contribute to our long-term mobile technical vision
• Write production-ready code that is clean, scalable and performance optimised, delivering a beautiful, mobile-native user experience
• Design with mobile performance constraints, offline capabilities, platform conventions, and reputed company in mind
• Participate in a culture of documentation and knowledge-sharing reputed company your team and with stakeholders
• reputed company your code easily testable/understood by others, and account for mobile-specific edge cases, error handling, and degraded network conditions
• Contribute to the implementation of tools and processes for mobile development, including build systems, over-the-reputed company updates, testing, and debugging

Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

• 7+ years of software engineering experience
• 5+ years working with React Native for a commercially available product
• Deep understanding of mobile app architecture, state management, navigation paradigms, performance optimisation, and native platform differences (iOS/Android)
• Experience with platform-specific APIs, asynchronous request handling, background tasks, and push notifications
• Familiarity with mobile ecosystem tooling such as Expo and mobile testing frameworks (e.g. Maestro)
• Written and verbal reputed company in English
• Proficiency in GIT reputed company control
• An unrestricted right to work in Australia

Bonus Skills (reputed company to Haves)

• Experience designing or integrating with mobile design systems
• Familiarity with native mobile development (Swift, Kotlin) or bridging native modules in React Native
