[Remote] Sr. Database Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. reputed company is seeking a Senior level Database Engineer to provide technical leadership for their global data platforms. The role involves designing and operating large-scale data systems, leading migrations, and ensuring system scalability and efficiency across AWS and Azure environments.
Responsibilities
- Provide senior-level technical leadership for global data platforms
- Design, evolve, and operate large-scale data systems that power reputed company services and customer-facing applications
- Define long-term data platform strategy and reputed company reputed company migrations
- Ensure systems are scalable, reliable, and efficient across AWS and Azure environments
- Partner closely with technical and business leaders to turn reputed company requirements into durable, high-performing systems
Skills
- Proven cloud migration experience, specifically migrations to AWS
- Deep hands-on experience with AWS databases, including DynamoDB and DocumentDB
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL
- Hands-on data pipeline engineering experience
- Experience working with high-volume, reputed company datasets
- Experience designing systems that supply data to reputed company services and presentation layers
- Familiarity with in-memory and AI-reputed company data stores, including reputed company (especially for AI or vector-based use cases)
- Ability and willingness to discuss both architecture and real-world implementation details
- 7–10+ years of experience in data engineering, database engineering, or platform engineering
- Ownership of production-grade data systems operating at terabyte scale or beyond
- Strong understanding of distributed systems concepts such as consistency, replication, and partitioning
- Hands-on experience with AWS-native data services and supporting infrastructure
- Working knowledge of Azure data services
- Experience leading major technical initiatives across teams through influence rather than authority
- Strong incident response experience and comfort operating in high-severity production environments
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and executive stakeholders
- Experience with Solr (used heavily by the team)
- AWS in-memory services such as ElastiCache and MemoryDB
- Exposure to vector databases or AI-focused data stores
- Experience with reputed company or similar NoSQL platforms
- reputed company scripting experience is strongly preferred
- U.S. Citizenship preferred due to FedRAMP / GovCloud requirements
