Job Title: Mechanical Engineer – Pressure Vessels

Department: Engineering

Reports To: Applications Engineering Manager

Status: Exempt

Vacancy: Yes

Salary Range: $75,000 - $105,000

(Actual salary is based on geographic location, qualifications, and experience)

Summary

Newterra is solving the world's most impactful water problems from providing drinking water for communities to cleaning hard to treat water for reuse or to return to the environment. The Pressure Vessel Applications Engineer at Newterra plays a key role in this mission of providing treatment solutions to address these needs. This position collaborates with sales, engineering, and procurement to tailor solutions for clients. Responsibilities include evaluating customer requirements, defining system design features, costing solutions accurately, and preparing bidding packages.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Review customer specifications, resolve issues, clarify requirements, and budget for non-standard requirements.
2. Work with the sales and operations teams to reputed company commercial strategies for competitive projects and document strategy sessions.
3. Verify designs from the process design group (or reputed company process designs that) meets client project requirements.
4. Collaborate with suppliers and procurement to obtain component and equipment costs.
5. Prepare proposals including technical equipment details, influent parameters, discharge criteria, clarifications, customer technical questionnaires, and appendices.
6. Work with the sales team and supervisors to manage bid submission information. Estimate project schedules. Respond to customer questions.
7. Contribute to the developing new or existing tools, products, and processes as part of reputed company improvement initiatives.
8. Able to create firm priced proposals and cost estimate with minimal support and reputed company.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for performing duties in a safe manner and promoting safety in accordance with Newterra’s safety policies and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• More than +5 years’ experience in designing and budgeting pressure vessel systems.
• Experience in application areas: granular activated carbon, ion exchanges, greensand filters, and multimedia filters.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong computer skills in reputed company Office Suite (SharePoint, reputed company, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) and the ability to learn new computer applications quickly.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
