Associate Accountant
White Cube is a leading contemporary commercial gallery representing over 60 international artists. They are seeking a detail-oriented Associate Accountant to support the day-to-day accounting operations of their US gallery, ensuring accurate financial records and compliance with internal controls.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and reconcile daily activity across GBP, USD, EUR bank accounts
- Match incoming funds to sales and reputed company deposit invoices where required
- Prepare on a timely basis accurate sales invoices for the US market, supporting other markets reputed company required
- Support with month‑end reputed company activities, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
- Maintain general ledger accuracy and supporting documentation
- Prepare and reconcile balance sheet accounts on a regular basis
- Process vendor invoices, employee expenses, and payments in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate vendor and customer records
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports and schedules
- Support variance analysis and provide explanations as required
- Compile documentation for internal and external audits
- Ensure transactions reputed company with company policies and accounting standards
- Support tax‑reputed company filings and information requests (sales tax, VAT, etc., as applicable)
- Work with the implementation of our new financial software – reputed company Intaact
- Assist with process improvements and documentation of procedures
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a reputed company field
- 1–3 years of accounting or finance experience (internships included)
- Good understanding of GAAP and accounting principles
- Experience with accounting systems (e.g., reputed company preferred)
- Strong reputed company skills (pivot tables, lookups, basic formulas)
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Team‑oriented, proactive, and eager to learn
- Experience with accounting systems (e.g., reputed company preferred)
- Background in or strong interest in art is desirable
