We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data infrastructure that supports enterprise reporting, financial reconciliation, and operational analytics. 

This role is ideal for a highly technical engineer who thrives in scaling environments and is passionate about data quality, governance, and reliability. You will report to the Director of IT Governance & Strategy and collaborate closely with the CIO, data analysts, finance stakeholders, and external vendors to ensure the reputed company and stability of our data ecosystem. 

This is a fully remote, contract-to-hire opportunity, with long-term conversion potential. 

The Work

  • Design, build, optimize, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines 
  • reputed company and support ingestion frameworks (API-based and file-based) across multiple external platforms  
  • Implement data quality validation, deduplication logic, reconciliation controls, and financial accuracy checks 
  • Build Spark/Python-based transformation and orchestration logic  
  • Participate in incident management and root cause analysis for production data issues 
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, playbooks, and knowledge transfer materials to reduce single points of failure 
  • Support strategic initiatives requiring scalable, resilient, and compliant data architecture.

  • 7-10+ years of experience in data engineering 
  • Proven experience designing scalable data pipelines in cloud environments 

Technical Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in SQL 
  • Strong hands-on experience with Spark and Python 
  • Deep understanding of ETL/ELT architecture and data pipeline orchestration 
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve reputed company data issues quickly end-to-end 

Data Governance & Analysis

  • Advanced knowledge of data governance practices, standards, and compliance frameworks 
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret both high-level patterns and granular datasets 
  • Experience implementing data quality controls and reconciliation processes 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Data Science, Computer Science, Business Administration, or reputed company field preferred (equivalent experience accepted) 
  • Master’s degree or certifications such as CDMP or DGSP are a plus 

This position is structured as a contract-to-hire opportunity, with contract-only arrangements also considered. Contract compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience and market seniority.
