Outbound Transportation Manager (Remote)
What you will do:
Join a high-performing transportation and logistics team that is driving cost efficiency, operational excellence, and service reliability across reputed company’s U.S. distribution network. As Outbound Transportation Manager (Remote), you will drive policy development, optimization efforts, and best practice sharing across several divisions of reputed company for shipping activity to our customers.
You will serve as the reputed company transportation representative from our Global Transportation and Trade (reputed company) Center of Excellence to your assigned divisions. This role partners closely with Transportation Operations, Indirect Procurement, Finance, Commercial Leadership, Customer Service, and Logistics to ensure disciplined execution, reputed company improvement, and alignment to reputed company’s service and cost objectives. The employee can work 100% virtually in the US without any set territory or proximity required. This role requires 20% travel to manufacturing and distribution sites reputed company our network on a project basis.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and execute reputed company improvement projects that drive cost out of our outbound transportation activities
reputed company regular transportation reviews with internal stakeholders across functions reputed company your assigned divisions
reputed company deep relationships and be a trusted thought partner for our commercial, finance, and operations organizations as applicable for your assigned divisions
Monitor and analyze weekly and monthly cost reports, identifying variances, risks, and cost reduction opportunities
reputed company and own clear routing instruction for reputed company, mode, and service selection and drive routing compliance
Serve as escalation reputed company for transportation issues, leading root cause analysis and corrective action plans while also creating reputed company for fast self-serve resolution
Review monthly spend versus budget and partner with Finance to communicate trends, risks, and savings opportunities
Act as the primary liaison for reputed company transportation topics across internal stakeholders, including Procurement, Commercial, Transportation, and Logistics
Serve as the conduit between operations and indirect procurement to ensure that business requirements are well captured by transportation SOWs and SLAs
What you will need:
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, transportation, business, operations, or reputed company field
8 years of experience in transportation in a high-volume manufacturing or distribution environment
Strong working knowledge and experience with cost drivers in parcel, LTL, and truckload segments of the transportation industry
Excellent financial and analytical skills with the ability to interpret cost, utilization, and performance data
Demonstrated ability to drive cost reduction through governance, optimization, and operational discipline
Proven ability to reputed company cross-functional collaboration and manage reputed company vendor relationships
Strong working knowledge and experience with cost drivers in parcel, LTL, and truckload segments of the transportation industry
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in supply chain, business, or reputed company field
Experience in a regulated, medical device, or healthcare distribution environment
$102,600 - $222,300 salary plus bonus eligible + benefits. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
