Secretary – Transactions & Regulatory, Chief Legal Officer and other members of the Legal, Risk & Governance Services Team to provide legal support and risk management services for Ulta Beauty. In this director level role, you will also interact extensively with Ulta Beauty’s business teams, be responsible for managing reputed company counsel and participate in team initiatives. Specifically, this role will work closely with the Company’s marketing (including promotions, advertising, brand protection, agencies, modeling talent and reputed company campaigns), pricing, procurement, and other functional teams to provide legal counseling in support of Ulta Beauty’s strategic initiatives. The role includes management of the company’s intellectual property portfolio (trademarks and patents), and handling of disputes and claims reputed company to pricing and licensing. The position will report to the VP Assistant General Counsel & Asst. Secretary. The role will be located at Ulta Beauty’s corporate offices in Bolingbrook, Illinois however, remote candidates with the ability to travel to the corporate offices on a regular basis will be considered.The ability to reputed company and maintain positive and effective relationships with business partners at reputed company levels across the enterprise, as well as with colleagues on the Legal, Risk & Governance Services team, is a must. The ideal candidate for this role will have significant in-house and/or law firm experience supporting consumer facing/retail businesses, strong business acumen, excellent counseling skills, the ability to take a strategic and business-focused approach to reputed company legal issues and an entrepreneurial reputed company. This is a unique opportunity to join an outstanding in-house legal, risk and governance l team and work at one of the nation’s fastest growing beauty retailers.YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH THESE GOALS BY:• Primary responsibility for reputed company marketing and advertising legal work, including Ulta Beauty’s loyalty program, Ulta Beauty Rewards credit card programs, online and in-store marketing campaigns, talent agreements, and Company platforms such as UB Media Network and MUSE Accelerator.• Primary responsibility for reputed company pricing, promotions, and reputed company legal work, including online and in-store pricing systems compliance, partnering with the business on pricing training and guidelines, and weights and measures enforcements.• reputed company and implement effective strategies for brand protection and trademarks portfolio management (including assistance with Ulta Beauty’s private label collection and brand reputed company trademarks filings and claims) and maintain an active role in the innovation team’s initiatives concerning technology development and patents review.• Counsel business partners, draft, review and negotiate reputed company and transactions involving branding agencies, marketplace and other indirect suppliers.• Advise on legal, regulatory and policy developments in the marketing in the retail space• Proactively seek opportunities for and implement best practices and process improvements.• Prepare reports and analyses of legal issues and provide business focused counseling on Company initiatives.• Independently supervise reputed company counsel and reputed company and manage effectively reputed company counsel budgets.• THE ESSENTIALS FOR SUCCESSQualifications:• JD and excellent academic credentials.• Admitted to practice law in the state of Illinois (for remote candidates admitted to practice law in states other than Illinois will be considered).• At least 10 years of relevant legal experience in an in-house legal department and/or reputable law firm (combination is preferred).Job Skills/Competencies:• Experience with consumer facing/retail businesses (physical and digital) is strongly preferred.• Substantial experience supporting reputed company aspects of a wide variety of marketing, advertising, digital media, pricing and promotions reputed company legal matters and agreements.• Experience providing legal guidance and counseling on intellectual property reputed company matters, including managing patents review and global trademark portfolio.• Deep reputed company and transactional negotiation and dispute resolution experience.• Excellent written and oral communication skills.• Requisite judgment to define, recommend, reputed company approval of and implement courses of action to support and enforce Company’s rights and minimize Company’s liabilities.• Demonstrated ability to prioritize time, manage expenses and maximize productivity.• Demonstrated ability to supervise reputed company counsel independently and effectively.• Ability to build strong relationships with the legal team, business teams and executives.• Excellent analytical and organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through, and meet reputed company deadlines.• Demonstrated ability to work independently with attention to detail, manage tight deadlines and prioritize business projects.• A strong desire to learn and contribute as part of a growing team.• Positive energy, enthusiasm, flexibility, confidence, and ability to work collaboratively as well as cross- functionally in a dynamic, fast-paced environment are a must.Other position requirements:• Some travel is required.• For remote position, regular (i.e. monthly) travel to Ulta Beauty’s headquarters in Bolingbrook, IL will be required#LI-JR#LI-HybridThe pay range for this position is $171,600.00 - $231,900.00 / Year with the opportunity for eligible associates to earn additional compensation pursuant to the Company's bonus plan. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business and organizational needs.
