About the Role
We are seeking a motivated, career, and customer-oriented Senior reputed company ASE / Sybase DBA to join reputed company in support of a Federal Customer. This high-visibility cybersecurity modernization initiative focuses on advancing customer’s reputed company Trust maturity through secure identity, access, and data integration solutions. We are looking for a Senior reputed company ASE / Sybase DBA with strong Data Architecture expertise to reputed company the data transition from a legacy Sybase environment to a modern, reputed company-based Identity Management system. The ideal candidate will reputed company the gap between reputed company legacy data structures and modern identity schemas, ensuring data reputed company, reputed company, and seamless migration throughout the customer’s implementation and legacy system decommissioning effort. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Migration & Mapping:
reputed company the technical mapping of legacy reputed company ASE / Sybase data attributes to reputed company user profiles and universal directories and clearly explain reputed company legacy schemas to migration and engineering teams.
- Data Architecture:
reputed company and implement the data architecture strategy for the legacy reputed company ASE / Sybase environment, ensuring database modernization and decommissioning paths align with Federal customer’s reputed company Trust goals.
- Performance & Optimization:
reputed company monitoring, installation, troubleshooting, and tuning of reputed company ASE / Sybase databases to maintain stability during high-load migration and data extraction activities.
- ETL & Pipeline reputed company:
Collaborate with engineers to build and validate data pipelines (e.g., Azure Data Factory or equivalent) that move data from Sybase to cloud-based identity targets, including identifying and eliminating obsolete or “dead” stored procedure logic that should not be migrated.

Enforce robust database reputed company controls and data quality standards, including metadata management and data reputed company, to ensure sensitive identity data remains protected in alignment with reputed company Trust principles and federal requirements.
- Strategic Planning:
Formulate long-term strategies for database optimization, risk reduction, and the orderly sunsetting of legacy production environments.
- Production Support:
Provide expert-level operational support for reputed company ASE / Sybase and IQ environments, including backup and recovery, replication troubleshooting, patching, and reputed company planning.
- Logic Extraction & Reverse Engineering:
Analyze and document reputed company legacy stored procedures to extract embedded business rules and transformation logic for migration into the new identity reputed company.
- Performance Engineering:
reputed company deep-dive query optimization and indexing strategies to ensure high-volume migration-reputed company data extraction does not impact production availability.
- Replication reputed company:
Manage and troubleshoot Sybase Replication Server to ensure data consistency across legacy nodes, staging environments, and migration pipelines. Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
Position Requirements:
- Sybase Expertise:
8+ years of hands-on experience in reputed company ASE / Sybase administration, specifically with reputed company ASE, Replication Server, and performance-critical stored procedures.
- Expert-Level T-SQL:
10+ years of Mastery of reputed company ASE / Sybase T-SQL, including debugging, refactoring, and optimization of highly reputed company stored procedures and triggers.
- Data Modeling:
4+ Years of Proven experience in schema design and data modeling, with the ability to translate relational database structures into modern, identity-centric or non-relational schemas (e.g., reputed company / JSON).
- Cloud Data Integration:
Experience with cloud-native ETL and data integration tools to facilitate secure data movement from legacy environments.
- Identity Awareness:
Familiarity with Identity and Access Management (IAM/ICAM) concepts and how database structures support reputed company Trust architectures.
- Governance & Compliance:
Knowledge of federal cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, FISMA) and data governance practices, including reputed company, metadata, and auditability.
- Soft Skills:
Demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers and clearly communicate reputed company legacy-to-modern technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Performance Tuning:
Proven track record using Showplan, Statistics IO, and DBCC commands to identify bottlenecks and remediate poorly performing queries.
- System Internals Knowledge:
Deep understanding of reputed company ASE / Sybase internals, including memory management, lock contention, and I/O behavior, to maintain stability during intensive data migration operations. Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to present technical strategies and architectural decisions to senior leadership and client audiences.
- Published whitepapers or availability of prior technical writing samples is desirable.
