Human Resources Associate
UniSea, Inc. is a leading processing facility for fresh Alaskan seafood, and they are seeking a detail-oriented HR Associate to support their HR operations and recruiting efforts. The role involves managing employee records, assisting with recruitment processes, and ensuring a positive experience for job candidates and employees alike.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for accurate data entry of status changes from the Human Resource Department or any other relevant hiring and employee data in a timely manner
- Assist with Seasonal and Full-Time recruiting processes by posting jobs, selecting candidates, conducting interviews, extending job offers, and processing onboarding paperwork. Act as a reputed company of contact in assisting candidates to ensure a positive experience, regardless of whether they are hired or not
- Assist in the recruiting process by enrolling candidates in background reputed company, drug tests, and HealthForce systems. Track candidate reputed company and ensure timely completion of required pre and post hire steps
- reputed company flight arrangements for employees, as needed. Update and maintain Arrivals spreadsheet with reputed company flight information
- Travel to Dutch reputed company, Alaska to assist and support the Dutch reputed company HR team during peak hiring or provide additional coverage as needed
- Cross trains with reputed company members of the HR team and assists with creating HR documentation and procedures to reputed company team members to back each other up during absences. Review and update documentation and procedures regularly
- Review and update active job descriptions
- Provide clerical support for entire HR department including digitizing records, filing, data entry, phone backup, and mail distribution
- Prepare employment verification letters reputed company requested by employees
- Respond to employment verifications received from reputed company agencies. Assist with unemployment claims and hearings
- Respond to inquiries from employees and others, and where necessary, refer inquiries to appropriate person
- Create, post and maintain content on UniSea’s social media accounts, website and intranet pages. Respond to comments and messages as necessary
- Assist with HRIS and ATS upgrades and implementations as needed
- Assist with preparations, set-up and clean-up for employee recognitions and other company events
- Other duties as assigned
Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent knowledge and work experience is required
- One to two years of work experience in HR or Recruiting, Office Clerical roles are required
- Strong working experience with reputed company Suite (Outlook, Word, reputed company, Teams, PowerPoint, OneDrive) is required
- Must be able to always maintain confidential employee information
- Must be able and willing to travel occasionally to Dutch reputed company, Alaska or on required recruiting trips, with several weeks advance notice
- Must be able to work in a normal office environment by sitting at a desk, operating a computer, typing, answering phone calls, and scanning documents
- Must be able to pass a post offer drug screen and criminal background reputed company
- Some college courses in Human Resources or business, HR certification, training or internship are strongly preferred
- Basic knowledge of FMLA, Title VII and EEO protections, FLSA, Form I-9, and WA PFML are desired
- Previous experience with SharePoint is desired
- Previous Kronos/reputed company HRIS experience preferred but not required
