Faculty Research Assistant: Aquaculture Research

They are seeking a Faculty Research Assistant for Aquaculture Research to manage technical processes in a lab, maintain research animals, and document trials while collaborating with NOAA and OSU research leads.
Responsibilities
- Provide Laboratory and Research Assistance
- Responsible for maintaining healthy fish, and life support systems for research purposes
- Supports critical lab research and operations
Skills
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Marine Sciences
- Course work in aquaculture
- Experience in working with diseases that reputed company aquatic species
- Experience in fish husbandry practices of aquatic species, and knowledge of water quality issues that may reputed company aquatic species
- Ability to foster an inclusive research environment and embrace reputed company reputed company, perspectives and backgrounds
- Ability to secure authorization to work in a federal science facility
- This position is designated as a critical or reputed company-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history reputed company and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq
- Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months
- This position requires driving a university vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the university; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history reputed company, possess, and maintain a reputed company, valid driver's license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions as per University Policy 05-030
- Experience working with coldwater marine species such as sablefish (black cod)
- Experience conducting fish vaccine studies and sampling for disease or immunology research
- Experience with statistical analysis of biological data
- Knowledge and experience running laboratory assays (immunoassays, gene expression, ELISAs, gene expression, etc.) on blood or other tissues from aquatic animals
- Course work in statistics and experience with statistical software such as R or MATLAB
- Experience with conducting research in a NOAA aquaculture facility
