About the Role
As a Cyber Defense Automation Engineer with Google Cloud, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the security infrastructure that protects our customers' assets. You will be part of the Mandiant team, a renowned leader in cybersecurity threat defense and response, now part of Google Cloud. This is a unique opportunity to work on some of the most complex and challenging security issues facing organizations today.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze cybersecurity issues and develop strategies to mitigate threats, analyzing competitor automation and executing/monitoring development plans. Provide expertise in Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) and other SOC technologies to support incident response. Create and edit SOAR playbooks written in Python, leveraging your programming skills to automate security processes. Collaborate with stakeholders and other groups in the customer environment to resolve security issues, facilitating effective communication and problem-solving. Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in cybersecurity, ensuring that our security solutions remain cutting-edge.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Cybersecurity). At least 3 years of experience in preparing and maintaining technology as part of engineering responsibilities. 3 years of experience with TCP/IP topology and network connections. 1 year of experience with SOC/CSPOR or other security operations teams. 2 years of experience with scripting languages, particularly Python. Relevant certifications such as Security+, CompTIA Network+, Cisco (CCNA), ISC2 (CISSP), or GIAC (GSEC, GCIH, GTED, GCA, GCIA, GNFA, GPEN).
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications will be considered a plus: Experience with maintaining and controlling SOAR platforms and managing their dependencies. Knowledge of Windows, Linux, and network equipment. A good understanding of event analysis, separation, and treatment. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
