The department offers a range of undergraduate programs, including literature, creative writing, professional and technical writing, linguistics, and English education, as well as a Master of Arts program.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses from first-year composition to upper division and graduate courses, with a typical teaching load of four (4) courses per semester.
• Engage in research and scholarly activities, with a focus on multi-ethnic American literature, including but not limited to Latinx, African American, Asian American and Pacific Islander, and Native American literatures.
• Provide service to the department, college, and university, demonstrating a commitment to student success and academic excellence.

Essential and Preferred Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in English/Literature or a reputed company field, including but not limited to American Studies or Ethnic Studies, by July 1, 2024.
• Evidence of teaching effectiveness at the university level.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Two (2) or more years of teaching experience at the undergraduate level.
• Experience teaching online and face-to-face.
• A successful record of scholarly publication and presentation.
• Demonstrated commitment to global awareness, inclusion, and equity efforts in pedagogical practices and scholarship.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organization skills.
