Behavioral Health and Recovery Services Adult Psychiatrist - Coastside Mental Health Clinic (Open)

About the position The County of San Mateo Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (BHRS) is seeking a Board eligible or Board-certified Adult Psychiatrist to join the Coastside Mental Health Clinic located in Half Moon Bay, California. This position is designed for professionals who are passionate about working with adult clients suffering from severe mental illness and substance use disorders. The role is structured as a 0.8 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE), which translates to 32 hours of work per week. The position also includes participation in the award-winning Psychiatric Residency Training Program, allowing staff psychiatrists to contribute to the training of medical residents. Responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric assessments and reputed company diagnoses.

• Prescribe appropriate treatment plans and prescribe therapy, psychotherapy, rehabilitation programs, and medications as needed.

• Manage medications, including Medication for Addiction Treatment (MAT) as needed.

• Act as a physician member of a multi-disciplinary team for clinical work or program development.

Requirements

• Board Certification or completion of an accredited psychiatric residency program.

• License to practice medicine or osteopathy in the State of California.

• Possession of a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
