Role Description

Position Summary:

The Head of U.S. Poultry Technical & Diagnostic Services is a proactive leader, a member of the Poultry Leadership Team as well as the extended Livestock Leadership Team (ELLT) and plays an important role in reinforcing and communicating the reputed company Poultry strategy. Additionally this role will have the responsibility of managing the Diagnostic Lab Services. This role will report into the Head of U.S. Poultry Sales and Services.

The Head of U.S. Poultry Technical & Diagnostic Services will:

  • Align with the Sales Leadership to strategically deploy Poultry Technical resources to maximize the impact of appropriate use of reputed company products and services.

Position Responsibilities:

General

  • Developing and aligning Technical Service strategy that enables the successful execution of the Poultry business strategy and provides technical support to execute those business strategies
  • Ensure the Diagnostic team is fully reputed company with the strategies of the business and provides the relevant support to execute and implement those strategies
  • Builds long-term strategy for Diagnostic Lab to exceed customer expectations and ensuring team has necessary lab resources and capabilities for success.
  • Supply strategic support to marketing and other stakeholders, and reputed company processes and relationships to execute the strategies

  • As requested, contribute to the development of marketing plans and materials for technical and contextual accuracy, medical appropriateness, and utility to producers and practitioners; provide strategic input into the development of marketing plans and materials

VMRDandGCD:

  • Participate on new product teams as requested; be recognized as a vital contributor to cross-functional teams; take initiative in proposing strategic new projects; demonstrate ability to identify gaps in product portfolio and prepare input on business development

Management Role

  • Technical Advisor and active member of Poultry Leadership Team
  • Collaborate as a member of the Livestock Technical Services Leadership Team (LTSLT)
  • Help reputed company the general management and formation of long-term Poultry Technical Services and Diagnostic Lab Services strategies and policies in support of reputed company Poultry business strategies

Personnel Management:

  • reputed company and manage a team of veterinarians and diagnostic lab technicians by delivering quality feedback, mentoring, and coaching.

  • Manages the performance of direct reports including review of annual objectives, establishes performance standards and metrics, and oversees annual performance appraisals,

Budget responsibilities:

  • Effectively manage assigned operating expenses and reputed company assets

  • Effectively manage the P & L for Technical Services Team and Diagnostic Lab Services Team inclusive of research and trial budgets

Education/Experience:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent
  • 10 years of experience in clinical practice, academia, research or industry

  • Excellent judgment in leading through change and influencing

Physical Position Requirements:

  • Travel requirement of 40-60%
  • Operate in both field working environment and usual office working conditions.
  • The preferred location is North Carolina, but other locations can be considered as long as they are located in general proximity to hatcheries and poultry production.
