About the Role: Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) aims to provide a comprehensive, cross-functional perspective on risks, ensuring their effective prioritization and management in alignment with the Company’s strategic goals. The Sr. Risk Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the Company’s risk management efforts. They will contribute to the maturity and socialization of operational risk management practices such as risk and control self-assessments (RCSA), control testing, and operational risk event management.

  • Collaborate across the lines of defense to ensure consistent implementation of risk management programs
  • Execute control testing in line with program requirements
  • Facilitate RCSAs with a broad range of stakeholders in line with program requirements
  • Participate in risk related change management initiatives through appropriate level of research, analysis, development and execution.
  • Provide independent and objective challenge to ensure the effectiveness of risk management practices.
  • Act as a change agent for the promotion of a risk management culture.
  • Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities – knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. Keeps up to date on regulation changes.
  • Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual or job-specific training.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations as applicable to this job description.
  • May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert.
  • Actively learns, demonstrates, and fosters the Umpqua corporate culture in all actions and words.

About You:

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, economics, accounting, or other applicable discipline or equivalent experience Required
  • 3 + years of banking, risk management, compliance, finance, or IT/Ops audit experience. Required
  • Intermediate knowledge of tools and techniques employed in risk identification, risk assessment, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Ability to independently work on multiple complex work efforts, which may involve working with a multitude of business units/key stakeholders or other risk professionals, with limited direction from Risk Manager or Officer.
  • Possess strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to present complex information to a variety of different audiences.
  • Knowledge of operational and enterprise risk management concepts, best practices, and regulatory guidance.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, Microsoft Powerpoint, Microsoft PowerBI and knowledge IRM/GRC systems helpful.
  • Proven ability to problem-solve complex issues with limited supervision.

The pay range for this role is $75,000.00 -$105,000.00, and the pay rate for the selected candidate is dependent upon a variety of non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, education, and geographic location. The role may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation and those details will be provided during the recruitment process.
