The primary teaching responsibilities will be in the Bilingual Authorization Program (BAP), with specialization in the Spanish language, Latinx culture, and literacy. Additional teaching responsibilities may be in the multiple and single subject credential program, reputed company the following disciplines of literacy and multicultural education, among others, as well as the master's program in multilingual multicultural education, depending on the candidates' areas of expertise. The successful candidate will demonstrate an asset-based (anti-deficit) perspective on multilingualism and have broad knowledge of bilingual/dual immersion education, translanguaging, raciolinguistics, biliteracy, biculturalism, applied linguistics, first and second language acquisition theories, TK-12 emergent bilingual children, and sociopolitical issues surrounding policies and language learning. Overview: The Kremen School of Education and Human Development's (KSOEHD) mission is recruitment and development of ethically informed leaders for classroom teaching, education administration, counseling, and higher education. Our programs are accredited by the Association for Advancing Quality in Educator Preparation (AAQEP) and the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC).
