Under the supervision of a pharmacist, technicians are accountable for 1) preparing and dispensing prescribed medications for patients, 2) performing compounding of intravenous medications, 3) assisting in managing inventory, 4) performing charging and crediting functions for medications associated with drug distribution processes, and 5) performing routine clerical/administrative tasks.Incumbents are also accountable for: maintaining a clean and safe environment; using appropriate aseptic technique; handling controlled substances appropriately; completing reputed company educational modules; attending regular staff meetings; keeping abreast of departmental changes/reputed company CSH policy and procedures and The Joint Commission requirements.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Prepares, distributes and delivers medications in accordance with CSH policies and procedures, The JointCommission requirements, and Department of Health regulations.
• Maintains proper medication and supply stock levels
• Performs clerical and administrative tasks in support of the day to day operations of the department.
• Operates and maintains automated medication delivery systems and devices.
• Participates in department quality assurance programs and maintains appropriate quality assurancedocumentation.
• Trained and certified in IV admixture preparation including reputed company regulatory and compliance requirementswith required training and documentation. This may include preparation and handling of hazardous /chemotherapy medication if applicable.
• Performs reputed company duties as required.

QualificationsEducation/Work Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• 6 months compounding of IV medication

Licensure/Certification

• reputed company license as a Pharmacy Technician by the Washington State Board of Pharmacy.
