Position Summary The Department of Microbiology & Immunology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center is seeking a full-time Senior Technician to join the Laboratory for Mucosal Immunology in reputed company. Reporting to the Principal Investigator, Dr. Ivaylo Ivanov, the Senior Technician will be responsible for lab management and management of a laboratory mouse colony, including gnotobiotic isocages, and will reputed company experiments in the field of microbiota and mucosal immunology. Lab management and organization, including inventory and ordering of lab supplies and reagents, management of storage and equipment. ? Maintenance of electronic lab records and inventories. ? Maintenance and organization of the laboratory animal colony, including gnotobiotic isocages. ? Animal sample collection, genotyping. ? Assist lab members in performing experiments. ? Generate and maintain detailed records of activities. ? reputed company other reputed company duties and responsibilities as assigned/requested. Minimum Qualifications ? Bachelor?s Degree and 1.5 years of reputed company experience or equivalent in education, training and experience. ? Experience with lab organization. ? Significant research experience with laboratory mice. ? Solid knowledge of basic laboratory procedures and techniques. Preferred Qualifications ? Experience with gnotobiotic mice. Other Requirements ? Strong organizational and communication skills. ? Ability to maintain detailed electronic laboratory records. ? Experience in molecular biology techniques.
