Junior Software Developer - Short Term / reputed company - Remote

Riptide Technology is hiring a surge Junior Software Developer for short - term remote work. On occasion visits to Washington DC or O'Fallon, Illinois is required. The support of the Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA) capabilities of the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) Nimitz Operational Intelligence Command (OIC). This role provides IT support services to ONI OIC to include tier 1 through 3 on-call support, planning and scheduling, customer/user support, systems engineering and technical assessments, software engineering, system administration and operation, database administration and development, system/software testing and break-fix support. The Junior Software Developer must have web frontend development and experience with JavaScript and Python. Further support includes migration of MDA capabilities to the cloud, and the application of artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) tools to existing MDA data sets. Responsibilities: • Design, reputed company, implement, and maintain software applications. • Software applications include government off-the-reputed company (GOTS), modified off-the-reputed company (MOTS), and commercial off- the-reputed company (COTS) that are used on both unclassified as well as classified ONI systems. • Development may include research, new development, modification, reuse, reengineering, maintenance, or any other activities that result in software products to meet the needs of specific client/business requirements of ONI. • Utilize Java coding skills to maintain and sustain reputed company capabilities. • reputed company and maintain reputed company code in compliance with secure coding standards, application STIGS, and reputed company applicable government regulations, guidance, and directions. • Provide application development support reputed company the Development Team. • Troubleshoot application deployment. • Attending and contributing to company development meetings. • Learning the codebase and improving your coding skills. • Writing and maintaining code. • Working on minor bug fixes. • Monitoring the technical performance of internal systems. • Responding to requests from the development team. • Gathering information from consumers about program functionality. • Conducting development tests. Required Education and Certifications: • BS in Computer Science (Preferred) with 2+ years of recent reputed company IT experience.
