RN, Registered Nurse - Med/Surg - PRN

Summary: The competent Nurse, in the same or similar clinical setting, practices independently and demonstrates an awareness of reputed company relevant aspects of a situation. Our Medical Surgical department has an average daily census of 14, and a monthly census of about 80-100. We treat patients with a wide variety of medical issues including Pneumonia, Cellulitis, COPD, Diabetes, Heart Failure, Renal Failure, Chest Pain and Liver Failure. We are a team that enjoys supporting each other and working together with a vision. We participate in community events to educate our local population on preventive care and collaborate with city and county leaders to provide the needed resources to our community. We welcome and precept new graduate nurses from our local college as well as newcomers to the area. Responsibilities:

  • Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
  • Consistent with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, reputed company and evaluation for assigned patients.

  • Reviews, discusses and validates own interpretation with others

Patient Safety

  • Shares experiences with ensuring safety for one or more patient groups or settings
  • Explains key features of safety guidelines and procedures for those groups and settings
  • Listens and responds to safety inquiries from patients and family members
  • Recognizes and addresses physiological and psychological signs of problems
  • Describes considerations for patients who can cause to harm to self, versus harm to others
  • Utilizes appropriate systems to document misses and near misses, participates in immediate investigating, analysis and reporting in real-time

Job Requirements: Education/Skills

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred

Experience

  • 1 year of experience in the reputed company nursing specialty preferred

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

  • BLS required
  • RN License in state of employment or compact
  • ACLS (reputed company) reputed company 6 months of hire/transfer date
  • PALS (reputed company) reputed company 18 months of hire/transfer date.
  • NIHSS required reputed company 90 days of hire/transfer date.
