About the position As a dedicated Business Advisor Lead-Operational Reporting Bank Disputes at USAA, you will play a crucial role in supporting leadership by prioritizing and coordinating key deliverables and activities. This position involves overseeing the development and presentation of multiple high-profile organizational deliverables, acting as a liaison between internal and external business operations to ensure a cohesive overview of the organization's health. You will provide innovative communications support to leadership for strategic or operational planning events, monthly business meetings, and compliance and regulatory requirements. In this role, you will advise team members by providing business planning mentorship, which includes research, development, planning, and implementation of procedures and processes aimed at increasing business viability and ensuring compliance, product competitiveness, and profitable growth. You will consult, develop, and implement solutions that influence business decisions for Bank Disputes, while also developing best-in-practice solutions to address sophisticated business challenges. Identifying opportunities to change, improve, or streamline existing business projects and initiatives will be a key part of your responsibilities, as will identifying regulatory and operational gaps to mitigate key risks associated with financial, reputational, or member harm. The position requires a flexible work environment, with the expectation of being in the office four days a week. It can be based in various locations including San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Charlotte, NC, Chesapeake, VA, or Tampa, FL, with occasional business travel. While remote work is an option for those residing in the continental U.S., preference will be given to individuals within a 60-mile radius of the listed USAA office locations who are willing to work four days from the office. Responsibilities • Leads the coordination and documentation of progress toward achievement of business goals, objectives, strategies, and action plan results. , • In partnership with leadership team, defines and sets objectives and content of messages to be communicated regarding organizational performance metrics and goals. , • Provides advice and guidance and negotiates approval of deliverable materials. , • Responsible for the development, coordination, and timely submission of relevant deliverables. , • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures. , • Provides gap analysis, recommendations, and strategic direction to enhance business programs, projects, agile projects and/or processes in a client consulting capacity. , • Leverages standard processes gained from expert industry knowledge to see opportunities for business efficiencies and provide expert mentorship strategy, planning, and problem-solving to help the business succeed in the marketplace. , • Identifies strategic partners and team members to optimally communicate programs strategic impact. , • Responsible for supervising risks within the internal control environment and advising on and recommending risk mitigation actions by collaborating with Compliance, Legal, Operational Risk Management, and Business Experience Owners. , • May lead efforts to conduct root cause diagnostics of key processes, controls, regulatory requirements to identify and detail these issues. , • Monitors, develops, and communicates audit testing, control testing and examination requests. , • Leads the development, management of consistent execution of operational reporting and provides trend analyses and solutions. , • Serves as a coach and mentor and on-the-job trainer for other team members. Requirements • Bachelor's degree or 4 years of related experience may be substituted in lieu of degree. , • 8 years of project management, process consulting, or business optimization planning within the financial services industry. , • Advanced knowledge of relevant industry technology applications, such as Salesforce, SharePoint, Portal, CRM, CBS, Fiserve, KDIM, Fideility, Metric Stream or other industry related applications. , • Extensive experience developing solutions and recommendations that will increase efficiency and improve business processes, projects, and programs, to include leading performance and profitability. , • Knowledgeable in the applications of Agile process and procedures. , • Knowledge and application of risk management frameworks and regulatory requirements for applicable Line of Business (LOB). , • Experience in developing communications and delivering key information effectively to team members and all levels of management to influence decisions centered around business optimization. , • Sound understanding of various applications and processes encompassing business development, business intelligence, analytics, data integration, and business process automation. , • Expert level of experience in negotiating, prioritizing, consulting, and influencing to all levels of management to achieve influence business decisions and achieve desired business results. , • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office tools. Nice-to-haves • US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner. , • Experience developing executive level briefings. , • Knowledge of SharePoint site development and maintenance. , • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. , • Building strong relationships and work with all levels within the organization. , • Demonstrated capability to navigate in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks with competing deadlines, and demonstrate forward-thinking and planning. , • Demonstrated ability to interact and collaborate positively across multiple organizations. , • Strong presentation skills.
