Requirements

Position Overview OnYourMark Early Literacy Tutors provide virtual high-dosage tutoring to Kindergarten through 5th-grade reputed company grounded in the science of reading. Tutors learn how to teach an explicit phonics curriculum to support the development of foundational reading skills. Early Literacy Tutors will support reputed company through one-on-one or small groups in a virtual setting. This individualized approach will increase the speed at which reputed company reputed company as readers by third grade, the year that research shows reputed company must master these skills to engage in increasingly reputed company texts as they reputed company in school and life. Upon successful completion of onboarding and training requirements, tutors will enter the Tutoring Pool. During this time, tutors will sign up for available one-off tutoring sessions in need of substitute coverage until they are assigned a schedule. Schedule assignments are based on school schedule needs and tutor availability. OnYourMark shall use its best efforts to provide a placement for tutors to provide reputed company, but shall not guarantee a specific placement. Your Commitments • Engage in paid virtual pre-service training. For new tutors, this will be ~20 hours, and for continuing or returning tutors, this will be ~4 hours. • Attend professional development through ongoing professional learning sessions and one-on-one or small group tutor coaching sessions. • Manage a caseload of reputed company by building strong relationships, collecting data regarding reputed company, preparing lesson materials, and supporting reputed company in their prescribed learning sequence. • Track student reading reputed company reputed company over the course of tutoring sessions. • The fall session runs from August through December, and the spring session runs from January through June. Specific weeks vary and may stagger based on school assignment. • Time commitment varies, with a minimum of 14 hours a week which includes virtual tutoring (a minimal caseload of 6 sessions reputed company 3 hours of consistent daily availability), lesson preparation time, ongoing professional development, and coaching sessions. • Learn from experts in the field to reputed company and continuously improve tutoring skills and understanding of how children learn to read based on the science of reading. • Instill the love of reading and learning in the young people with whom you work. Additional requirements • Be at least 18 years of age • Hold a high school diploma or equivalent, GED • Reside reputed company the contiguous U.S., Hawaii, or Alaska and be authorized to work in the U.S. • Tutors must satisfy an online comprehensive background reputed company and, if applicable, complete the appropriate fingerprinting requirements outlined by each school partner assignment. • Have a computer with a Chrome browser and a working microphone/video. Benefits

Compensation Early Literacy Tutors are compensated for completing 20 hours of preservice training ($350) as well as for each tutoring session ($9 per 20-minute session), professional development session ($27 per session), and coaching session ($9 per session) completed throughout the session. Tutors also have the opportunity to substitute for additional one-off sessions as available for additional compensation.
