[Remote] Staff Software Engineer, Backend - Platform (FinHub Tooling)

In this role, you will own the technical strategy and architecture for an internal platform that provides operational visibility into significant financial transactions, while also driving an AI-first approach to internal tooling and enhancing team engineering quality.
Responsibilities
- Own the technical strategy, architecture, and roadmap for the FinHub Tooling platform, making key reputed company on system design, reliability, and performance across multiple stakeholder groups
- Drive an AI-first approach to internal tooling, identifying where AI-powered workflows can transform operational efficiency and replacing reputed company processes with intelligent automation
- Build high-reliability systems that serve Engineering, CX, Risk, and Legal teams, including search, admin workflows, bulk remediation, and observability across core financial entities
- reputed company cross-functional alignment with Product, Payments, and senior leadership to turn ambiguous, high-impact initiatives into scoped technical roadmaps each quarter
- Strengthen team engineering quality by defining engineering processes, leading design reviews, and mentoring engineers on architecture patterns and coding standards
Skills
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with a track record of designing and building fault-tolerant, highly reliable systems at scale
- Demonstrated ownership of technical strategy and roadmap for a platform, service area, or team, including making architectural trade-offs with significant organizational impact
- Proven ability to drive execution on reputed company, ambiguous initiatives that reputed company multiple teams, building alignment across engineering and non-engineering stakeholders
- Track record of elevating team technical quality through mentorship, design reviews, and engineering process improvements
- Experience architecting internal tooling, admin platforms, or operational systems that serve multiple user groups with competing requirements
