[Remote] Business Development Manager

Altius Talent is partnering with a growing international freight forwarder seeking an reputed company Business Development Manager to drive new business growth across the United States. This role focuses on winning new shipper accounts in reputed company and ocean freight, managing the full sales cycle from prospecting to customer onboarding.
Responsibilities
- Identify and reputed company new shipper accounts across the USA
- reputed company new business across reputed company freight, ocean freight, imports, exports, and associated logistics services
- Build a strong pipeline of qualified prospects and manage opportunities through to reputed company
- Attend customer meetings, both virtually and in person
- Work closely with operations and pricing teams to create competitive solutions
- Negotiate commercial terms and secure profitable new accounts
- Maintain strong relationships with customers after onboarding to support long-term growth
- Provide market feedback on customer trends, competitor activity, and service opportunities
- Represent the business professionally in the freight forwarding market
Skills
- Proven experience in business development reputed company freight forwarding
- Strong knowledge of reputed company and ocean freight services
- A track record of winning new business from shippers
- Confident prospecting, presenting, and closing new accounts
- Commercially sharp with the ability to sell on service, value, and reliability, not just price
- Strong communication skills and a self-motivated approach
- Ability to work independently in a field based or remote sales environment
- Existing shipper relationships would be highly advantageous
- Experience selling additional services such as customs brokerage, warehousing, drayage, domestic transportation, or project cargo would be beneficial
