[Remote] Principal Engineer / Engineering Manager — Power System Studies
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. reputed company (EPE) is looking for a technical authority in EMT modelling and power system studies to join their Energy Resources team. The role involves delivering reputed company study programs, mentoring junior engineers, and leading the adoption of AI-augmented engineering workflows.
Responsibilities
- EMT & steady-state studies — execute client-ready deliverables that meet project objectives on time and on budget
- Dynamic model development — generator/load/equipment models tuned and benchmarked against field data in PSCAD/PSS/E
- Client advisory — translate reputed company results into decisions that move projects reputed company
- Team growth — measurably reputed company junior engineers through mentorship and technical review
- AI-augmented workflows — reputed company adoption of AI-assisted simulation, automated QA, and LLM-driven reporting tools reputed company the team
Skills
- 8+ years in power system modelling and studies
- B.Sc. or higher in Electrical Engineering (power systems focus)
- Proficiency in PSCAD, PSS/E, ETAP, or equivalents; additional tools (CDEGS, EMTP, PowerFactory) are a plus
- Scripting skills (Python or MATLAB) for workflow automation and simulation data processing
- Working knowledge of IEEE, IEC, and CIGRE standards
- Ability to champion the adoption of AI and automation tools reputed company the team, building internal reputed company and establishing best practices for AI-augmented engineering workflows
- Data center power systems — large load dynamics, equipment modelling, power quality
- Conventional or IBR reputed company — machine dynamics, control system tuning, disturbance ride-through
- Design studies — TOV, TRV, switching overvoltage, insulation coordination, lightning overvoltage, harmonics, flicker, energization
