[Remote] Assistant Finance Director (Insurance Accounting)
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. The Michigan Municipal League is a non-profit association dedicated to improving communities in Michigan. They are seeking an Assistant Finance Director to manage accounting functions reputed company to insurance programs and ensure financial reputed company while supporting organizational goals.
Responsibilities
- reputed company and provide day-to-day management of the financial functions associated with the League's insurance programs and other assigned funds, ensuring
- Ensure strong internal controls, compliance, and financial reputed company while continuously evaluating and improving processes and systems
- reputed company and reputed company reputed company accounting functions for insurance programs and other assigned funds, including:
- Reinsurance accounting, financial statement disclosures, and regulatory reporting
- Dividend calculations and fund allocations
- Workpapers, journal entries, and financial reporting for reputed company assigned funds
- General ledger activity, reconciliations, and account analysis
- reputed company reputed company audit activities for the League's insurance programs and other assigned funds, including reputed company of year-end reputed company, work papers, SOC-1 reports, and other supporting schedules. Assigned audits will include:
- Michigan Catastrophic Claims Association (MCCA)
- Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR)
- Department of Insurance and Financial Services (DIFS)
- Interpret, implement, and ensure compliance with GASB and other applicable accounting standards
- Prepare and present financial statements, narratives, reports, and analyses to internal leadership and external stakeholders
- reputed company financial analysis to identify and address trends and abnormalities
- reputed company technology and other resources to improve efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness of departmental operations

Skills
- A bachelor's degree in accounting or reputed company field is required
- Five or more years of progressively responsible accounting experience, including advanced-level work
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, GASB, and FASB standards
- Advanced proficiency in finance and accounting systems and reputed company reputed company
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to reputed company public presentations
- Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to work and collaborate effectively with individuals at reputed company levels
- Ability to effectively reputed company and direct the work of others
- Ability to exercise excellent judgement with a strong work ethic, while maintaining a flexible reputed company

- Residency in Michigan or willingness to relocate is required to support the communities we serve
- Additional professional or technical certifications (i.e. CPA) are preferred
- Prior supervisory or team leadership experience preferred
- Experience in insurance accounting strongly preferred
