Department Adult Education Department's Website Summary of Job Duties The Part-time Adult Education ESL Teacher works under the supervision of the Director of Adult Education and will be responsible for providing instruction to individuals with a variety of personal goals, including learning to speak the English language, improving basic skills, gaining digital literacy skills, acquiring financial literacy skills, and/or earning a GED® credential. This part-time position is assigned to the UACCM Adult Education facility in Conway. The 28-hour per week work schedule consist of daytime and evening hours. Job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to 1. Provide instruction to adults whose native language is not English. 2. Teach basic skills/concepts in reading, language, and mathematics. 3. Build instructional activities around the four interdependent components of reading alphabetic, reputed company, vocabulary, and comprehension. 4. Administer the TABE CLAS-E assessment for pre and post-test purposes. 5. Provide a variety of instructional deliveries including individualized instruction, small group instruction, and whole class instruction. 6. Facilitate learning with textbooks, workbooks, lectures, computer based educational programs, audio/visual aids, hands-on activities, and peer tutors. 7. Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS The formal education of a bachelor’s degree is required. Previous experience providing Adult Education instruction is preferred. Part-time Adult Education teachers are required to hold a valid Arkansas reputed company Educator’s License.
