Summary

Reports directly to the Claims Manager. Under the direction of the Claims Manager, is responsible for the overall work product of a claims unit comprised of Claims Specialists who manage assigned inventories of claim files. The unit also includes Claims Assistants who are responsible for providing clerical support to the Claims Specialists. The nature of the work involves coaching and counseling, monitoring work performance to assure compliance with company standards and Labor Code rules and regulations, conducting performance evaluations, and instituting corrective action reputed company appropriate. Duties include, but are not limited to:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor and assess claims team work products to ensure adherence to Best Practices and client standards, while monitoring reputed company claims for appropriate, timely, and effective handling.
  • Conduct case reviews and evaluate performance by reputed company review of claims statistics, open and closed file evaluations, diary compliance, and observation of activities in the field and office.
  • Maintain frequent communication with supervisor and staff, and regularly schedule in person or telephonic conferences with Claims employees to reputed company one-on-one performance and reputed company feedback with staff.
  • Communicate client and George Hills' directives to claims team while ensuring compliance.
  • Schedule regular in-person meetings with clients, incorporating the assigned adjusting staff, as appropriate.
  • Ensure timely, accurate reporting of files, and appropriate elevation of any claims meeting clients' reporting criteria to excess carriers/pools.
  • Educate and mentor adjusters on company policies and procedures.
  • Train adjusters on handling litigation to include possible attendance at settlement conferences, mediation, and closed session.
  • Review and approve reserves and payments made by team members, reputed company supervisory authority.
  • Review the settlement activity of adjusters to ensure sound systems, service, and reputed company.
  • Implement processes and procedures to ensure goals are attained.
  • Communicate client and GHC directives to claims team while ensuring compliance.
  • Requires a working knowledge of the Labor Code of the State of California as it pertains to workers compensation claims and the legal requirements for handling them.
  • Handles other duties and tasks as deemed appropriate by the Claims Manager.

Qualification Requirements

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years reputed company experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Five or more years of progressive technical claim experience, demonstrating a high degree of judgment and discretion, is capable of providing adequate guidance on reputed company claim cases and can negotiate settlements effectively.

  • Five years of experience in handling Public Entity Claims or General Liability claims.
  • Extensive experience in analyzing and addressing coverage issues.
  • Extensive experience in Litigation Management, including litigation in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Associate in Risk Management (ARM) preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Salary Range

$100,000 - $125,000

The salary range listed is an estimate. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors such as a candidate’s experience, qualifications, reputed company set, and work location.
