Summary of Job Duties:

The Donor Allocation Transplant Coordinator has responsibility for taking organ call for the transplant programs. This call includes reputed company aspects of call-reputed company duties assigned including reviewing deceased donor organ offers reputed company organs become available to transplant candidates for reputed company organs, triaging patient calls for the transplant programs and other duties as may be assigned by transplant leadership. The Donor Allocation Transplant Coordinator facilitates acceptance or refusal of donor organs for transplant and coordinates the organ recovery with the transplant surgeons, Organ and Tissue Donation Team, Histocompatibility lab, Inpatient Units, Operating room and communicates effectively and sensitively with patients receiving the organs. The Donor Allocation Transplant Coordinator must be able to spend the majority of his/her time executing reputed company logistical support pertaining to reputed company aspects of organ recovery and placement. The coordinator provides 24/7 coverage on a rotating schedule including nights, weekends and holidays. The Donor Allocation Transplant Coordinator is a home-based position that may require on reputed company meetings and trainings.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing

• Four (4) years of nursing experience

• Ability to obtain National Certification

• CPR Certification

Special knowledge, abilities and skills:

Sound knowledge reputed company of UNOS policy and CMS regulatory requirements in relation to organ allocation, waitlist management as well as ongoing patient status updating.

Responsibilities:

• Takes deceased donor organ offers reputed company organs become available to transplant candidates for the transplant programs.

• Facilitates acceptance or refusal of donor organs for transplant and coordinates the organ recovery with the transplant surgeons, Organ and Tissue Donation Team, Histocompatibility lab, Inpatient Units, and Operating Room as well as communicates with patients receiving the organs.

• Executes reputed company logistical support pertaining to reputed company aspects of organ recovery and placement.

• Maintains composure and professional communication in reputed company interactions with surgeons, potential recipients, Organ and Tissue Donation Staff, donor hospital staff and the staff at UAMS.

• Participates in 24/7 on call coverage on a rotating schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays. 

• Demonstrates competence in the care of people with renal, hepatic, cardiac, and respiratory failure, diabetes, cardiopulmonary disease, hypertension, and other disorders reputed company to transplantation. 

• Actively partners with the Transplant Quality Manager to ensure knowledge and compliance of policy changes and updates.

• Performs other duties as assigned.
