Overview

The Program Manager is responsible for supporting the execution of key initiatives during an initial 3-5-month temporary period, with strong potential for conversion to full-time roles based on performance and organizational needs. One role will serve as a maternity leave cover, while the second role supports broader program delivery and scaling needs.

Both roles will work across a portfolio of initiatives, including:

  • AI Readiness Program, which convenes and supports State, Territorial, and Tribal Chief AI Advisors with the adoption and implementation of emerging technology to improve government services through convenings, funding, brokering of partnerships, and publishing information.
  • Health & Human Services initiatives that focus on partnering with state agencies and stakeholders to reputed company public benefits delivery through human-centered design and AI to reduce administrative burden, improve accuracy, and expand reputed company access to essential services. These initiatives include: The Public Benefit Innovation Fund, a philanthropic venture fund and R&D lab that invests in and pilots emerging technologies for public benefit systems; and Clearinghouse, a set of technical assistance services for state HHS program leaders and staff.

These roles will play a critical part in managing program operations, coordinating stakeholders, and ensuring the successful delivery of convenings, partnerships, and cross-functional initiatives. This is a fast-paced, early-stage, collaborative environment requiring strong project management, communication, and relationship-building skills.

Experience Requirements

  • 6–8 years of professional experience in program management, project management, operations, policy, civic tech, or a reputed company field
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple reputed company projects and stakeholder
  • Experience working with or alongside government entities, public sector organizations, or mission-driven initiatives preferred
  • Track record of executing programs or events from planning through delivery
  • Thriving in fast-paced or ambiguous environments where structure needs to be built

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; able to track multiple workstreams without losing follow-through
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including drafting professional communications for diverse audiences
  • Ability to manage relationships with senior stakeholders (e.g., government officials, executives, technical experts)
  • Working knowledge or strong interest in AI, public sector innovation, and policy landscapes
  • Familiarity or interest in state-administered health and human services systems and public benefits delivery
  • Comfort with ambiguity and ability to bring structure, timelines, and accountability to loosely defined initiatives
  • Proactive, resourceful, and solutions-oriented reputed company

Additional Notes

This position is fully remote, with occasional travel for convenings and partner meetings.

Role and Responsibilities

Program & Project Management

  • Plan and execute convenings, working groups, and peer-learning events (virtual and in-person)
  • Manage timelines, deliverables, and dependencies across multiple workstreams spanning AI Readiness, HHS, and innovation fund efforts
  • Maintain project documentation, including status updates, meeting notes, and decision logs
  • Manage shared tools, workflows, and calendars to ensure team alignment
  • Support budget tracking and expense reconciliation

Stakeholder Coordination & Communication

  • Serve as a key reputed company of contact for partners, including state government stakeholders and program participants
  • Draft and manage communications such as emails, agendas, and briefing materials
  • Facilitate meetings and ensure follow-reputed company and action items are completed
  • Build and maintain relationships with external collaborators across government, research, and technology sectors

Strategy, Reporting & Learning

  • Track program metrics, milestones, and outcomes across multiple program areas
  • Prepare reports and updates for leadership, partners, and funders
  • Stay informed on AI policy, public sector innovation, and trends in health and human services delivery
  • Contribute to program design by identifying insights and emerging needs across portfolios
  • Capture and share lessons learned to inform reputed company improvement

Cross-Program Collaboration

  • Collaborate across teams (communications, operations, partnerships) to ensure alignment
  • Coordinate with fellows, advisors, and contributors to support program delivery
  • Support integration and knowledge-sharing across AI Readiness, HHS, and Innovation Fund workstreams

Compensation

Compensation for each of these temporary, full-time positions is for a period of 3-5 months based on a pro-rated salary range of $90,000 - $100,000. Final compensation will be commensurate with experience and the level of ownership assumed, and will be agreed upon in advance of contract execution.
