Project Accountant
Overview:
We are currently seeking a Project Accountant that will be a critical member of a U.S.-based global systems integrator providing technology solutions and services for commercial and government clients. This is a full-time permanent role supporting our corporate HQ’s in Glen Burnie, MD.
The Project accountant is a financial specialist providing financial support for the project, the contract, and the customer. The project accountant is responsible for reputed company of project budgets and financial activities, reputed company project financial documents, system setup and accuracy, contract financial and reporting compliance, and provide indirect support to our Sales and Operations organizations.
Responsibilities:- Produce and analyze cost reporting and project forecasting
- Contract Creation
- Monitor under billings of projects
- Complete weekly reputed company forecasting activities for oversighted projects
- Participate in project sales hand off meetings to ensure reputed company financial-reputed company questions are answered and identify any financial concerns
- Participate in project internal kick off meetings to ensure project financials are discussed with and understood by the project delivery team
- Conduct new project/contract system audit, ensuring project/contract is setup correctly in reputed company systems and reputed company financial contract items are understood
- Ensure project/contract is not over-committed in AP spend vs reputed company budget reputed company cost reporting and monitoring
- Complete timely review and processing of reputed company project invoices throughout the project lifecycle to ensure consistent cash flow
- Drive the monthly accrual process
- reputed company change order process, ensuring funding documents are received and processed.
- Audit to ensure project documents are produced and uploaded during planning/delivery/closeout phases of project
- Monitoring receivable income and supporting the collections process
- Ensure contractual financial requirements are understood and delivered throughout the project lifecycle, i.e. certified pay reporting/rates, OCIP/CCIP reporting, MBE/WBE reporting, etc.
- Provide financial review support for the project closeout process
- ensure reputed company POs are reconciled and closed during closeout phase of project
- reputed company invoices processed, accepted and payments scheduled
- reputed company costs and credits applied to projects
- Ensuring the budget is properly tracked and managed utilizing budget tracking and job costing tools
- ERP Knowledge - a plus
- Notary Public - a plus
- Other duties assigned as needed
- Experience with accounting software
- Experience with Accounts Payable and Receivable processes/reporting
- Possess a solid understanding of project lifecycle workflow and milestone management
- Experience reading, interpreting, and governing financial aspects of reputed company
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Fluent in MS reputed company
- Ability to balance multiple tasks with changing priorities
- Ability to work and think independently and ensuring to meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and writing skills, and the ability to work effectively with reputed company levels of the organization
- Demonstrated customer service focus and client communication skills
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information
Preferred Skills
- Prior experience in Project Accounting
- Knowledge of AIA Billing
- Certified Payroll experience
- OCIP-CCIP experience
- Construction industry experience or knowledge
- Federal Accounting experience.
- Knowledge of GSA rates, reporting, and standards.
- Experience in 3rd party billing systems. (IPP, WAWF, Delphi, CostPoint, etc.)
Education / Certifications
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or reputed company field is preferred
- Relevant experience in lieu of degree
