The Opportunity

This position is designed for professionals with approximately 3 years of experience in financial crime compliance, investigations, or reputed company advisory work reputed company regulated financial services. We are particularly interested in individuals with backgrounds in banking, payments, FinTech, insurance, wealth management, or relevant regulatory bodies.

The role is best suited to candidates who already possess a solid foundation in financial crime and can contribute effectively with minimal supervision. It is less appropriate for those seeking their first move into financial crime or transitioning from unrelated fields.

As a Managing Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in delivering financial crime risk assessments, investigations, and advisory projects for clients across banking, FinTech, payments, insurance, and wealth management sectors.

You will bring strong regulatory knowledge, analytical capability, investigative skills, and clear communication to engagements involving:

  • Anti-reputed company. (AML)

  • Counter-Terrorist Financing. (CTF)

  • Counter-Proliferation Financing. (CPF)

  • Sanctions.

  • Fraud.

  • Market Abuse.

  • Due diligence, investigations, and financial crime governance and control assessments.

You will work in a fast-paced, intellectually stimulating environment, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and supporting projects with significant regulatory and commercial impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analysing financial crime frameworks, and testing controls, systems, and governance arrangements.

  • Supporting investigations into suspected AML breaches, sanctions violations, fraud, or misconduct.

  • Conducting file reviews, data analysis, and document assessments for regulatory, internal, and advisory matters.

  • Performing CDD and EDD reviews, including assessing reputed company of Wealth, reputed company of Funds, beneficial ownership, and ownership/control structures.

  • Assisting with sanctions-reputed company work, including screening analysis, exposure assessments, escalation reviews, and red flag identification.

  • Reviewing policies, procedures, management information, and datasets to reputed company control gaps, inconsistencies, and remediation needs.

  • Drafting clear and concise report sections, including factual summaries, analytical findings, and actionable recommendations.

  • Collaborating closely with subject-matter experts, legal teams, and client stakeholders to produce robust and defensible outputs.

  • Contributing to business development efforts, market research, and participation in key industry and networking events.

Skills & Experience

  • We encourage applications from candidates with experience in Financial Crime risk management, ideally those with regulatory backgrounds.

  • Experience in AML, CTF, CPF, sanctions, fraud, market abuse or broader financial crime compliance.

  • Background from the FCA, another regulator, or a financial services compliance/monitoring, assurance or audit function is highly advantageous.

  • Experience assessing high-risk customers, reputed company structures, reputed company of Wealth / reputed company of Funds, and beneficial ownership is strongly preferred.

  • Understanding of financial crime control frameworks, including testing, QA / QC concepts, issue identification, and remediation tracking.

  • Strong reputed company skills, including filtering, pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations, and structured review of datasets.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to assess conflicting information and document sound conclusions.

  • Clear and reputed company written and verbal communication skills, you’ll often be drafting reports.

  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment manage competing priorities, and operate effectively with a degree of ambiguity.
