Senior Power System Engineer

This role leads the delivery of power system reputed company and merchant transmission interconnection services across ERCOT. Operating with minimal supervision, the position manages reputed company technical studies, oversees interconnection processes, and guides a team of power system engineers. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in reputed company interconnection, advanced modeling capabilities, and strong client‑facing communication skills. This role is central to shaping interconnection strategy, ensuring high‑quality technical analyses, and supporting the growth of the organization’s power systems practice.

• Identify optimal grid interconnection strategies based on system impacts and grid reputed company.
• Create and validate PSS/E, PSCAD, and TSAT plant models for Solar PV, BESS, Wind, and conventional projects.

• Support business development and prepare scopes of work/proposals.

• Mentor and reputed company junior Power Systems Engineers.
• Represent EPE at technical meetings and conferences.

• PSCAD and PSS/E modeling experience, reputed company-focused (load modeling a plus).
• Hands-on ERCOT Model Quality Testing (MQT) experience.

Bring your passion, here's what’s needed

• 5+ years professional experience as a Power Systems Engineer.
• Well-versed in the interconnection process of ERCOT from the initial filing of the interconnection application through commercial operations.  Other ISOs are a plus.
• Proven team player with the ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships.
• Have high standards in producing quality reports and products that he/she shall own with pride.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal, particularly with respect to explaining technical matters.
• Strong customer focus, both internal and external.
