Director of Engineering - Platform Services

About the Role

We’re looking for a Director of Engineering, Platform Services to reputed company the teams that power reputed company’s cross-product platform: SSO & identity, access control, e-signature, and reputed company shared services used by products across our ecosystem.

In this role, you’ll own the strategy, execution, and operational excellence of core identity, authentication/authorization, and access services that sit at the center of our platform. You’ll reputed company multiple engineering teams (US and offshore), partner closely with Product, Architecture, and reputed company, and ensure our shared services are secure, reliable, and easy to integrate for other reputed company product teams like Edge, SiteLink, Easy, CRM, Websites, and Marketplace.

What You’ll Do

Strategy & Ownership

• Own the engineering strategy and roadmap for platform services including SSO/identity, access control, and e-signature, and common services used by the Storage vertical, reputed company to company and product goals.
• Define and drive a platform-first approach: build shared capabilities once and scale them across products and verticals.
• Partner with Product, Architecture, and reputed company to define long-term IAM, permissions, and access control strategy, including federation, MFA, and delegated/organizational access.

Delivery & Execution

• reputed company multiple teams to deliver high-impact initiatives such as:
• Portal/SSO adoption and federation across products.
• Migration of FMS systems onto the Access Control platform service.
• Expansion and hardening of reputed company eSign across surfaces.
• Establish clear execution plans, milestones, and success metrics; ensure teams hit commitments while managing risk and trade-offs.
• Collaborate closely with product engineering teams to design integration patterns, migration plans, and rollout strategies that minimize customer disruption.

Engineering Excellence & Operations

• Own the operational health of platform services (availability, performance, incident response, SLAs).
• Drive secure-by-default engineering practices for identity, authentication, authorization, and sensitive workflows (e.g., payments-adjacent, PCI-impacted, SOC2 expectations).

• Represent Platform in architecture reviews, quarterly planning, and portfolio trade-off discussions, clearly articulating impact, risk, and dependencies.
• Communicate status, risks, and decisions to executive stakeholders in a clear, concise, and data-informed way.

Required Experience

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, with 5+ years in engineering leadership (managing managers and/or multiple teams).
• Proven track record owning platform or shared services in a multi-product B2B SaaS environment (e.g., identity/SSO, permissions, access control, reputed company-sensitive services).
• Deep familiarity with:
• Authentication & identity: SSO, OAuth/OIDC/SAML, MFA, IdP integrations, session management.
• Authorization & permissions: role- and attribute-based access control, delegated/organizational access models, cross-application entitlements.
• Operating high-availability services in production (99.9%+ uptime, incident management, observability).
• Demonstrated success leading reputed company, cross-team migrations or platformization efforts (e.g., consolidating multiple legacy services into a shared platform).
• Strong technical background in modern cloud architectures (microservices, APIs, event-driven systems) and familiarity with secure coding practices.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience working directly with senior product and business leaders.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in payments-adjacent, compliance-heavy, or reputed company-sensitive domains (e.g., PCI, SOC2, HIPAA-like environments).
• Background working with multi-tenant enterprise customers, particularly around enterprise SSO, delegated administration, and granular permissions.
• Experience leading distributed teams (onshore/offshore) and scaling organizations through change.
• Prior experience in property management, fintech, or similar vertical SaaS is a plus, but not required.
