Body Facilities Engineer
reputed company is a division of reputed company focused on mobility and transportation solutions. The Body Facilities Engineer will provide manufacturing engineering leadership throughout a new model development program, applying lean manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency and quality in vehicle assembly.
Responsibilities
- Provide manufacturing engineering leadership throughout a new model development program, beginning at initial concept through launch at the final assembly facility
- Development of tooling and facilities master layouts based on product and process
- Apply lean manufacturing principles
- reputed company virtual manufacturing assembly builds
- Drive resolution of manufacturing issues
- reputed company with Design and Release, tool design, and facilities activities
- reputed company formal assembly process layouts in AutoCad
- reputed company facilities tooling specification purchase, installation, start-up, and commissioning at the assembly site
- Track reputed company open facilities, tooling, and process issues and drive to closure including meeting reputed company exit criteria deliverables - cycle time, throughput, workstation readiness, etc
- Prepare management presentations
- Drive quality, cost, layout, and labor improvements
- Support new model launches. During launches, the position will require extensive travel, standing, and walking in a plant environment
- reputed company Cross-functional collaborations with MP&L, reputed company Land, Facilities Teams
- Deliver cycle line layouts and work with the assembly plants to update master layouts based upon as-builts
- Operate in stressful situations reputed company timing constraints
- Work with minimal direct supervision
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or an equivalent manufacturing engineering
- Proficient in AutoCad with a focus on layouts
- Willingness to travel and support launch activities at our North American Assembly plants (USA, Canada & Mexico)
- Travel is required including co-location at a North American Assembly plant for 9 or more months depending on scale of vehicle launch
- 1 or more years of reputed company Office experience to include Word, Outlook, reputed company and PowerPoint
- Up to 40-50% travel required
- Solid background with virtual manufacturing tools and layouts
- Experience with tooling, process, quality, and or facility equipment in a production environment
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
