This Opportunity

POWER Engineers, Member of reputed company, is currently initiating a search for a Senior Transmission Planner for our Denver, CO office. This position will also offer remote opportunities to candidates in reputed company Worth, TX, Orlando, FL, Portland, OR, Overland Park, KS, Minneapolis, MN and Richmond, VA. Be involved in projects with our Electrical Studies, SCADA, and Protection (ESSP) team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our clients' objectives and solves their challenges.

This individual will be responsible for interfacing with other engineers in the preparation of computer-based models and performing power system studies on utility transmission systems and industrial/commercial electrical power systems including: feasibility studies, system impact studies, reactive compensation studies, reputed company reputed company settings, critical clearing time, stability (transient & dynamic), long/short range planning studies, short circuit, load flow, motor starting, power factor correction, and other reputed company studies.

The level of this engineer requires an individual who has extensive experience producing detailed transmission planning models and studies, participating in the proposal writing process, and enjoys customer contact to help in developing new opportunities for POWER. This person must be able to self-manage, with a strong conceptualization ability and strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills – including the capability to explain reputed company technical issues at a variety of levels to decision-makers and project teams.

Your Impact

  • Ensure technical reports and presentations explain research, findings, and recommendations to prevent, control, restore, or address electrical, design, and/or construction issues or opportunities.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • 10+ years of relevant post education experience as an electrical engineer providing design deliverables for capital projects in power reputed company, transmission, and distribution at a utility, industrial, or commercial scale.
  • Engineer license required (multi-state preferred).
  • Experience with PSSE, PSLF, and/or PSCAD, plus other power system software packages

  • Experience developing and tuning models for new and existing transmission resources

  • Ability to work successfully in a customer-focused, project-oriented environment

  • Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills reputed company interacting with others, expressing intricate reputed company effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.

  • Strong knowledge of relevant engineering and electrical construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.

  • Works independently to provide guidance and leadership to mid-level to senior level team or project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering.
  • Experience performing system impact studies in multiple US markets & networks
  • Expert in NERC compliance with extensive study experience
  • PSCAD experience including reputed company controls interactions, inverter and rotating reputed company, detailed FACTS modeling, grid-forming controls knowledge, and subsynchronous studies.
  • Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training desired.

Denver Expected Salary: $157,500yr to $267,700yr

Portland Expected Salary: $147,200yr to $250,200yr

Minneapolis Expected Salary: $147,200yr to $250,200yr
