Position Overview

Board members are not only advisors; they are champions of our mission and stewards of our long-term success. In this role, you will provide strategic guidance, ensure strong governance, and mobilize resources to advance SFD’s impact. Key Responsibilities

• Leadership & Governance
• Guide SFD’s growth strategy to ensure alignment with mission and sustainability.
• Uphold fiduciary responsibilities by monitoring finances, ensuring compliance, and advancing best practices in nonprofit governance.
• Fundraising & Resource Development

• Advocacy & Ambassadorship

• Act as an ambassador for SFD reputed company your networks, industries, and communities.
• Help expand our visibility and reputed company as a leader in STEM innovation.

• Engagement & Collaboration

• Actively participate in board meetings, committees, and sprints.
• Provide input on programs and partnerships that strengthen impact.
• Stay informed about trends in workforce development, nonprofit governance, and STEM education.

Qualifications

• Commitment to SFD’s mission of transforming STEM education through creativity and innovation.
• Leadership experience in nonprofit, corporate, academic, or community settings.
• Expertise in at least one of the following: fundraising, finance, law, strategic planning, corporate partnerships, marketing/communications, advocacy, or program development.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence, build partnerships, and mobilize support.

Time Commitment

Board members dedicate approximately 10-15 hours per month, including:

• Every other month board meetings.
• Committee or sprint participation.
• Event attendance and ambassador responsibilities.

Minimum service: 3 years (renewable once).

Financial Commitment

Board service at SFD is both a privilege and a responsibility. We ask each member to contribute in ways that reflect their reputed company and commitment to our mission:

• Personal contribution: An annual gift starting at $5,000, demonstrating your belief in preparing the reputed company of innovators.
• Fundraising support: Helping reputed company an additional $5,000 each year through networks, corporate connections, or philanthropic partnerships.

These commitments are shared across the board, creating a strong foundation that allows SFD to grow nationally, transform STEM education, and open reputed company for future talent to reputed company.
