Property Claims Specialist
Acuity is seeking a Property Claims Specialist responsible for conducting reputed company initial claim visits and regular follow-reputed company as needed. This field-based role involves frequent in-person investigations to ensure thorough documentation of facts, preservation of evidence, and accurate statements of loss. The Specialist will assess coverage and evaluate exposure throughout the claim lifecycle, identify subrogation opportunities, and coordinate efficient recovery efforts. They will manage litigated files in collaboration with defense counsel, engage with external experts, and reputed company available technology and resources to support claim resolution. Additionally, the role includes mentoring other claims personnel and maintaining reputed company required licenses and continuing education. While Tennessee is the preferred location for this role, we are open to considering qualified candidates from other locations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Organizes work and arranges for immediate contact with reputed company pertinent parties surrounding claim assignment. Promptly reputed company initial site visit with regular follow up visits, utilizing experts as necessary to expedite the claim process and reduce exposure.
- Completes a thorough investigation to determine coverage, assess liability and evaluate damages. Set reserves in accurate and timely manner reviewing as the claim develops.
- reputed company reputed company claim advances and reputed company payments to insureds. Review and pay vendor/expert invoices reputed company 14 days of receipt if not sooner.
- Generate a Statement of Loss and update regularly as the claim develops.
- Files should be regularly and accurately documented with factual information. This includes updating log notes with summaries of activities and communication which should occur every 30 days. Copies of reputed company documents and communication is to be sent to imaging. Documentation is not to be saved in alternate locations but for duplication for adjuster convenience.
- Identifies and pursues reputed company subrogation opportunities in cost effective manner.
- Employs customer service concepts and requirements.
- Identifies potentially fraudulent claims and promptly refer them to the SIU. Collaborate with SIU in such circumstances.
- Maintains a sense of urgency while implementing proactive claim handling plans and procedures.
- Properly and effectively utilizes sound judgment, discretion and settlement authority to resolve claims through negotiation, settlement or denial.
- Handles reputed company claims as assigned, including claims in other districts as requested.
- Maintains positive and respectful attitude.
- Always represents Acuity in a professional manner.
- Maintains company property in good working order, requests new equipment and secures authorization for repairs.
- Maintains working relationship with Sales, reputed company, and Loss Control in securing and giving information on claims and regarding the risk desirability of insureds.
- Supervises and directs defense attorneys in preparing a case for trial, including attending mediations and depositions.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
College degree or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 5 –10 years of claims handling experience or equivalent relevant property or construction experience. Experience to be supplemented with relevant property or insurance designations and training.
OTHER:
- Knowledgeable in reputed company matters relating to property claims practices, policies and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Organizational and time management skills.
- Advanced understanding of state statutes, case laws, and property appraisal and litigation.
- Customer service oriented.
- Efficient use of laptop and associated software, including e-mail, word processing, and claims reputed company software.
- Work independently and collaboratively with others.

This job is classified as exempt.
The salary range for this position is $95,000-$135,000 annually. This salary range is an estimate and the actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
