International Accountant/VAT Analyst - Headquarter

We are looking for a structured and detail-oriented International Accountant to join our International Reporting and Tax Compliance team. In this role, you will take ownership of VAT reporting processes for Cyprus companies and help build and scale our international accounting function.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with financial data, building clear processes, and improving them through automation and technology. If you are someone who loves structured systems, notices every discrepancy in a dataset, and enjoys turning complex information into clear insights — this role is for you.

You will work with multiple international entities and support VAT compliance across our growing portfolio of global tech businesses.

What you will do

  • Coordinate the collection and organization of invoices and supporting documentation required for VAT reporting across Cyprus entities.

  • Process financial documents using AI tools to extract and structure financial data.

  • Prepare and review VAT reports, validating the completeness and accuracy of financial information.

  • Communicate and coordinate with external tax consultants in Cyprus, providing reporting packages and supporting documentation.

  • Review and approve VAT returns prepared by external advisors, ensuring compliance and accuracy before submission.

  • Lead the VAT refund process in Cyprus, coordinating documentation and managing communication with advisors and stakeholders.

  • Prepare VAT-related analytics and insights to support internal decision-making and financial planning.

  • Participate in building and developing the international accounting function within SKELAR.

  • Identify opportunities to automate and improve VAT reporting processes, implementing solutions that increase efficiency and data quality.

Skills and experience needed to join the board

  • 1–3 years of experience in accounting, finance, or tax (Big 4, consulting firms, or international businesses will be a plus).

  • Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals and document workflows.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to maintain high data accuracy.

  • Structured thinking and strong organizational skills.

  • Analytical mindset and ability to work with financial data.

  • Interest in process optimization and automation.

  • Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills.

  • Upper-intermediate English (both written and spoken).

  • Proactive mindset and willingness to take ownership of processes.
