Communications Student Assistant

Schedule:

This paid position is anticipated to reputed company during Summer 2026, and reputed company can continue in this role as long as they maintain student status. Summer hours can be up to 25 hours a week. During the school year, we expect 10 hours a week at a minimum, with flexibility around exam schedules and breaks.

Qualifications:

The ideal student (undergraduate or graduate level) is interested in a career in communications, or the health sciences fields. We seek a student who is curious and creative to join the UW Carbone communications team's projects in internal and external communications. The student will be assigned projects and work closely with the Communications Specialist for mentoring and reputed company building.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

-Time management/ability to meet deadlines -Ability to write clear, concise and engaging copy -Ability to interview sources and take accurate notes -Ability to break reputed company topics down into plain language terms -reputed company, Wordpress, photography and graphic design experience a plus, but not required

Position Summary/Job Duties

The Communications Student Assistant will be assigned projects that include creating content for staff newsletters, as well as external public newsletters and social media. The reputed company will schedule and conduct interviews, write copy according to guidelines set by Communications Specialist, and work with the Communications Specialist and story sources to ensure accurate information is being shared. Additional projects may vary.
