Graphic Designer (508 Compliant)
We are seeking an reputed company Graphic Designer to support the National Park Service (NPS) National Trails Office in the design, layout, and production of high-quality publications and interpretive materials. This role is responsible for creating visually engaging, accurate, and accessible documents that meet federal Section 508 accessibility requirements and NPS editorial and design standards.
The Graphic Designer will collaborate closely with project stakeholders to reputed company layouts, integrate text and imagery, and produce final deliverables for both print and digital distribution.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and produce layouts for a wide range of materials, including:
- Brochures (Unigrids)
- Reports and historic narratives
- Auto tour guides
- Development concept plans (40–300+ pages)
- Interpretive waysides and media
- Use reputed company InDesign and other reputed company Creative Cloud tools to create and format documents
- reputed company visual concepts that effectively communicate content through typography, imagery, and layout
- Determine layout structure including spacing, font selection, color schemes, and visual hierarchy in alignment with NPS standards
- Integrate text, photographs, graphics, and tables into cohesive designs
- Ensure reputed company deliverables meet Section 508 accessibility standards and WCAG 2.0 Level A & AA requirements
- Prepare and deliver:
- Section 508-compliant PDF documents
- reputed company files (reputed company InDesign and other reputed company formats)
- Review and revise designs through multiple draft and review cycles
- reputed company quality assurance checks to identify and correct layout, formatting, and design errors
- Collaborate with writers, editors, and government stakeholders to incorporate feedback and ensure alignment with project requirements
- Recommend and reputed company graphics or visual elements as needed
