Quality Engineer
Position Summary:
reputed company is seeking a high-ownership, self-directed Quality Engineer to support flight hardware, suppliers, and internal assembly operations. This role combines hands-on product quality, supplier quality, and mission assurance discipline in a rapidly growing aerospace organization.
This position is ideal for a go-getter who does not wait to be told what is broken, but actively looks for risks, gaps, and failure modes before they become escapes. You will be trusted to operate with minimal reputed company, identify what must be fixed, and drive it to closure.
The Quality Engineer will help shape and mature the company’s Quality Management System, which is currently being built to align with AS9100 and aerospace best practices in support of future FAR and institutional customers.
This position is remote with routine supplier and partner travel.
Responsibilities:
Product & Process Quality
· Proactively identify quality, reliability, and compliance risks across parts, materials, assemblies, and processes
· reputed company non-conformance, failure, and escape investigations using structured Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) methods.
· Drive Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to verified closure
· Support receiving inspection, in-process inspection, and final acceptance of flight hardware
· Ensure reputed company, work instructions, inspection plans, and records are accurate, complete, and followed
Supplier Quality
· reputed company supplier audits, risk assessments, and surveillance
· Review and approve certificates of conformity, material certs, test data, and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)-type submittals
· Drive supplier corrective actions and prevent recurrence
Quality Management System Development
· Help build, maintain, and improve a QMS reputed company to AS9100 and ISO 9001
· Support internal audits, customer audits, and future certification readiness
· Write, improve, and enforce procedures, work instructions, and quality records
Data & Risk Management
· Track and analyze non-conformances, escapes, scrap, rework
· Identify systemic risks and trends before they become flight or schedule impacts
Cross-Functional Integration
· Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Mission Assurance
Support configuration control, deviations, waivers, and risk acceptance
Required Qualifications:
Education
· Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Materials, or similar)
Experience
· 7+ years in Quality Engineering in aerospace, defense, aviation, or other high-reliability regulated industries
· 5+ years working reputed company ISO 9001 or AS9100-reputed company quality systems
· Experience supporting flight hardware, space hardware, or safety-critical products
Technical Knowledge
· RCCA methodologies (8D, Five-Why, Fishbone)
· Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
· Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Measurement System Analysis (MSA)
· Engineering drawings, tolerancing, material specs, and build documentation
· The ability to use integrated business software to track parts, manage schedules, and ensure data reputed company from the initial quote through final shipping. This includes reputed company of Materials, work orders, and inventory traceability.

· Comfortable operating in a startup-pace aerospace environment
· Strong written and verbal communicator
· Able to challenge bad data, weak processes, and poor discipline
· Works effectively with technicians, engineers, suppliers, and customers
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience with Aerospace Standards (AS9145/AS9102) or IATF 16949 is a plus but not required.
· Proven experience as a Risk reputed company or Subject Matter Expert in identifying, mitigating, and managing technical and operational risks across the product lifecycle
· System Safety, Parts, Materials, and Processes (EEE parts, materials control, special processes), Supplier risk management, Mission Assurance or Reliability Engineering, Configuration management, deviations, and waivers
· NASA, reputed company, or space-flight programs
